The Ohm-Smith Scholarship Fund was established in 2024 by Marilyn Jean Ohm-Smith who is a graduate of the UI Department of Pathology's Master of Science in Pathology program and was mentored by Franklin Koontz.

Boyden receives a two-year R21 research grant from the National Institutes of Health

Dr. Alexander Boyden was awarded a two-year R21 research grant entitled “Gamma herpesvirus impact on required B cell:CD4 T interactions in a B cell-dependent, antibody-independent mouse model of multiple sclerosis” from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Dr. Alexander Boyden received a one-year RFA research grant award from the National MS Society entitled “Impact of gamma herpesvirus infection on required B cell:CD4 T cell interactions in a novel B cell-dependent, antibody-independent EAE model”.
