Biography
Biography
I was born in Utah, but grew up in Delhi, India, where I earned my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia University. Early on, I completed several short research internships that piqued my interest in biomedical research. For my Master’s thesis, I studied the effects of a naturally derived compound on inflammation and autophagy in a model of Acute Lung Injury. Now, as a PhD student in Experimental Pathology at the University of Iowa, I am working in the Boyden Lab to elucidate the mechanisms underlying a novel relapsing-remitting mouse model of multiple sclerosis. Broadly, my research focuses on understanding how B cells and T cells contribute to its disease pathogenesis.
